Common goals and paths make up perfect partnerships and this fruitful venture has brought together various nations (Canada, USA, Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden, France, Bahrain, South Korea, and Pakistan) working towards building a greener Pakistan. It is a great honor and privilege to serve as Chairman of Hawa as we participate in improving the quality and supply of energy in Pakistan and join hands with other nations in saving our planet through clean energy solutions.
We have a state-of-the-art 49.735 MW wind energy plant, using high availability GE wind turbines, making it a reliable and environment-friendly energy source. With five Development Finance Institutions (DFIs): FinDev (Canada), FMO (Netherland), IFU (Denmark), STOA (France), and Swedfund (Sweden) as our shareholders, we look forward to millions of dollars of future foreign investments in the renewable energy space of Pakistan to help reduce carbon emissions and combat climate change.
At Hawa, our global industry experts are training our local teams to build the country’s skilled human resource pool. We have a strong focus on increasing women’s representation in the energy sector and promoting gender equality. Our projects in the country have driven domestic job creation by employing hundreds of direct and indirect employees and have furthered our goals of community investment and environmental justice.
I would like to thank all the Hawa investors, our lender DFC (ex OPIC), the Government of Pakistan (GOP), CPPAG, NTDC, NEPRA, and all other GOP authorities for their continued support in our endeavors.
